Admission Procedures - High School
It is recommended that you begin the admissions process by attending the High School Info Night, an Open House or scheduling a campus tour. Open House events are for the whole family. Campus tours are held during the school day and are for parents only. Contact the Oakwood admissions office at admissions@oakwoodmail.org or (408) 782-7177 x204 to attend a tour.
Interested students are also invited to visit the campus by attending a regular school day at Oakwood High School. Visiting students will shadow with another student and see campus life first hand. Students are also invited to complete their entrance exam in the morning of the same day, or they may prefer to spend the whole day shadowing and arrange with the admissions office to take the exam on an alternative day. Submitting an application is not required in order to shadow.
Admission to Oakwood High School is competitive. Applicants should be motivated, hard-working students who want to be contributing members of a vibrant academic community. Students should aspire to attend college and understand the commitment that accompanies that goal.
Students interested in applying to Oakwood High School complete (and submit) all of the following:- $50 non-refundable application fee
- completed application form, including personal statement
- two teacher recommendations
- current academic record
- Oakwood-administered entrance exam
- informal interview
Applications for the following school year are available in November, and the priority deadline for submission is February 5th. Admission decisions for those meeting the priority deadline are mailed by mid-March. Decisions on later applications are made on an individual basis.
Students seeking admission during the summer months will not shadow, but will complete all other parts of the application process.
