Steve_EarthMr. Earth possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience, not only in the area of mathematics, but in the realm of 'start-up' high schools. Before joining the Oakwood faculty, he worked as a math instructor at Harker School in San Jose and as an instructor and department chair at Kehillah Jewish High School in Palo Alto, both of which 'grew' a high school by adding a grade each year. Mr. Earth holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa where he majored in Mathematics and minored in Computer Science. After receiving a master's degree in Mathematical Logic from Carnegie-Mellon University, he went on to obtain a master's degree in Education from Harvard University and a Massachusetts state teaching credential. During the summers, Mr. Earth teaches at the Johns Hopkins University's international Center for Talented Youth (CTY), where he created the Discrete Math course. Mr. Earth's passion for mathematics coupled with his technology savvy make for a winning combination with students.
